Product overview

It is a kind of castable that can resist the corrosion of 800~1200℃ acid medium ( such as nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, etc.). It adopts water glass as a binder, acid or alkali acid refractory as aggregate and powder, adding a small amount of coagulant configuration. However, Acid resistant refractory castable can not resist alkali, hot phosphoric acid, hydrofluoric acid and high fat corrosion.The raw materials of Acid resistant refractory castable are abundant and cheap, so they are widely used in the thermal equipment of metallurgy, chemical industry, petroleum, light industry and other industries.


The aggregate used for Acid resistant refractory castable mainly includes silica, caststone, agalmatolite, andesite, diabase and so on. The acid resistance of several common raw materials (weight measurement, %) is: 98% of cast stone, more than 97% of silica, 92%~97% of clay clinker, 92-96% of agalmatolite, and more than 94% of andesite. What kind of raw materials will be chosen according to the conditions of use. But it must be attention that when choosing silica as raw material, the quartz has polycrystalline transition after heating, and will produce volume change (expansion) in the process of transition. so it's best to take wast silica instead of some part of silica raw material. It mainly adopts silica powder, cast stone powder, porcelain powder, high siliceous clay clinker powder, etc to prepare the powder of Acid resistant refractory castable , of which the casting powder is adopted more.


The binder sodium silicate solution with higher modulus should be adopted to reduce the amount of Na2O brought in by sodium silicate and improve the acid resistance. Generally, sodium silicate solution with modulus of 2.6-3.2 and density of 1.38-142,g/cm3 should be adopted. There are many compounds that can be used as coagulant for sodium silicate, including fluoride compounds (such as fluosilicate, fluoboric acid and fluorine titanium acid alkali metal salt), esters, acids (such as ethyl acetate), metal oxide (such as lead, catalpa, barium oxide), as well as carbon dioxide (CO2) etc., but fluorine sodium silicate (Na2SiF6) is used most widely. It is easy to use and easy to control setting and hardening time.


Generally the acid resistant refractory castable is composed of 60%-70% of acid-resistant refractory aggregate, 30%-40% of powder, and 13%-16% of sodium silicate solution with a density of 1.38-1.42g/cm3. When sodium fluorosilicate is used as a hardening promoter, its usage amount is 10%-12% of the mass of sodium silicate solution.

It is mainly used as lining of anti-corrosion flue and chimney, lining of acid storage tank, lining of pickling tank, lining of pyretic tower of nitric acid, lining of acid recovery furnace and lining of other containers corroded by high-temperature acid gas.
